This release is the much anticipated sequel to a previous release called ‘the Darkside’ which was PX/PX imperial stout cask matured. This being the sequel is called ‘the Darkside strikes back’ and is a colab release w Captain Bligh’s. Peated spirit was matured in 4 x 35L PX casks before being tipped and married together in a vat. Those casks were freighted down to Captain Bligh’s and they purposely brewed a chocolate coffee porter and aged it in those casks. Meanwhile the whisky back in Byron underwent another maturation in a 125L PX cask. Once the beer was ready it was then tipped from the barrels and canned. The casks were sent back up to me and I gave the whisky one last maturation in them. Bottled at a cask strength of 55% yielding 200 bottles. Each bottle sold received a can of the beer as a gift with purchase! It’s truly dark and delicious and launching at Captain Bligh’s on Fri 6th June alongside the beer for a boilermaker that will propel you into light speed happiness!
